HES University Post Graduate Programmes, Amsterdam
Welcome to the PGP! (Post Graduate Programmes)
About Website
The HES (Hoge Economische School) School of Economics and Business in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is part of the greater HvA (Hogeschool van Amsterdam) or University of Amsterdam. The Post-Graduate Programmes is a division of the HES offering classes to post-graduate students aged anywhere between early twenties to late thirties.
Formerly the HES Post-Graduate Programmes, or HES PGP, was solely represented through a section on the HvA website. As the HES PGP grew it wished to distinguish itself from the other University courses and consulted the aid of Olivier Designs. The HES PGP needed a unique design that evoked the yuppie spirit of the pre-MBA, MBA, and Masters students, among others, while adhering to the web site design regulations set fourth by the university's head IT department.
Several proposals were submitted after which one was chosen. Some changes were made based on feedback. HES PGP is a fresh, hip, trendy website. It makes full use of HvA colors in appropriate areas as designated by the HvA IT department's guidlines. The home page welcomes students with a familiar style alluding to HvA posters. News badges along the bottom of the page are like flyers on a bulletin board and are creative way presenting special offers or important events. Along the left side of the home page is a slide show of students and teachers. The real people.
Simple navigation breaks up the different courses into areas. User friendly design is taken into consideration as sub navigation within the different areas is largely the same where possible, e.g. the link to request a flyer by mail for that specific course is always in the same place in the respective programme pages.
