The South African Club in Luxembourg exists to ease the cultural shock of leaving one's country and going to live or work in another. Furthermore, the SA Club Luxembourg is a place where South Africans can meet and exchange stories. It is also a place where South Africans who have lived in Luxembourg for many years and assimilated the customs and traditions there can experience South African culture.
The logo for SA Club Lux always included elements of both South Africa and Luxembourg, but it was also about unity and sharing. The first incarnation of the logo presented two flags encircled. A new logo was designed in 2007 to commemorate the growth of the club.
The new logo consists of hand-drawn lines and shapes. The hand-drawn approach evokes thoughts of African art while some regal swirls represent the grandeur of Luxembourg. Colors are also used symbolically. Red, white, and blue are found in both nations' flags. Black, yellow, and green are unique to the South African flag. The black triangles point North, East, South, and West, representing the millions of South Africans scattered around the world.
